Stress Less: Meditation 101 for Nutrition Students, Interns & Job Seekers

Shortly after I graduated from college, I moved into a yoga center. In exchange for chopping vegetables a few hours a day to be used in the meals for guests, I was provided room, board, and an opportunity to immerse myself in a yogic lifestyle.

It was during this time I learned not just the transformative power of yoga but also its sister-- meditation.

I recall being a little intimidated at the idea of meditating. The practice conjured up images of monks in robes sitting in uncomfortable positions for hours on end. And my (undiagnosed) ADHD brain didn't really enjoy, or know how, to slow down.

I didn't think meditation was for me.

But I decided to try it out.

And, looking back today at that younger version of myself, I am so grateful I did. Meditation is a tool that has helped me

  • manage my mind

  • be kinder to myself

  • get more done

  • not sweat the small stuff

  • ENJOY my life even when it's hard

and so much more.

Most of all, meditation has helped me transform from someone who was often at odds with myself internally, to someone who stays on my own team. Even when times are tough.

If you have ever been curious about meditation, or are simply stressed and ready to try out a simple free science-based way to help your brain and nervous system relax, join us November 3rd!
